TODAY WAS OUR VERY FIRST DAY AND WE LOVED IT!
We really enjoyed our sports challenge on Wednesday.
Our coaches were called Christine and Seamus.
We have been enjoying Big Books in P.1. This week our Big Book is called Baabooom. We really loved this book. We acted out the story.
We have been doing lots of fun things to get our fingers ready for writing and our eyes ready for reading
We have been sorting, matching and thinking about pattern
On Thursday we walked to St.Comgall's to meet our buddies. Our buddies gave us a bracelet to wear. We did Outdoor Play with our buddies. We had break together and we sang some songs. We said goodbye to our buddies and walked back to Antrim Primary. We all had a lovely time together. Saul said 'Mrs Grant that was a great day!'
CHILDREN IN NEED
Today was a special day at school. We didn't wear our uniforms to school. We were allowed to wear something spotty or something with Pudsy on it. The P.6's did a special assembly about Children in Need. Pudsy came to visit our school. It was a fun day.
Our topic is Homes. We have been thinking about the Three Little Pigs and the homes that they built. Our Play based learning has been related to the Three Little pigs.
We went on a walk to look at different types of houses in our neighbourhood.
We saw terraced houses, semi detached houses and detached houses. We saw Finn's house too.
We discovered about the building site. We found out how houses are built. We found out about the machinery used by builders.
Our class were the stars in the night sky.We sung a song called Twinkle Star. We said some rhymes and we did a star dance with our star wands.
We really were LITTLE STARS!
We went to the theatre at Ballyearl to see the pantomime. The pantomime was Peter Pan. It was brilliant. We saw Santa after the pantomime. He gave us a gift.
We are very excited about Christmas. Our Play based learning is about Christmas. We have been acting out the nativity story. We have been building the stable in the sand tray. We have been making cookies using Christmas cutters. We have built Santa's workshop.We have been Santa's elves making toys. We have been bathing Baby Jesus in the water tray.We have been building a polar express railway so that people can visit Santa. We are flying to Lapland to see Santa. We have been making Christmas cards. We have decorated the dolls house too. It's all been great fun!
It was Christmas Jumper Day today. We really loved dressing up in our Christmas clothes for school.
We went on a bird watch. We saw blackbirds, crows, sea gulls, magpies, wagtails, chaffinches, sparrows and starlings.
Steeple Nursery girls and boys came to visit us. Anne Crawford told us lots of stories. We had juice and biscuits. We had a lovely time.
Our buddies from St Comgall's came to visit us. They enjoyed doing Outdoor Play with us in Antrim Primary.
In PDMU we have been learning about our Sense of Taste. We learned about our taste buds. We tasted food that was salty, sweet and sour. We discovered that some people can roll their tongues and some people can't.
We have been doing lots of things related to our Winter Topic. Here are some photos of us having fun.
We really enjoyed World Book Day. We dressed up as a character from a Julia Donaldson book.
Our class Assembly was on Tuesday. We decided to do our Assembly about RAIN. We looked at Waterproof clothes. We talked about a Science Investigation that we had done in class to decide which material would make the best umbrella. We sang a song called Running in the Raindrops. Our Bible Story was about Noah. Some people played instruments that made building sounds. Some people played instruments that sounded like the rain falling. Saul played the drum for thunder sounds and James played the cymbals for the flashes of lightning. Leo was Mr Noah and some of the girls were the animals that went into the Ark. Rory held up the rainbow at the end.
RED NOSE DAY
On Red Nose Day we dressed in something red. We brought in £1 for Comic Relief. We all looked amazing.
We went to St Comgall's to see our buddies again. We had a wonderful time at
St Comgall's doing outdoor play. Here are some photos for you to enjoy!
We had a sponsored Fun Run. We wore our running clothes to school. We ran really fast. When we had finished our run we had water and fruit. We went to the Assembly Hall and the rugby player Andy Ward talked to us about being the best at sport that we can be.
Swara and Saul said the Fun Run was great!
We had a non uniform day. We brought £1 in for The Children's Heartbeat Trust.
STREAMVALE FARM VISIT
