How to write a diary, with Helen Peters

Have you ever wanted to write a diary? Well, now is the perfect time to get started. Author Helen Peters has read lots of diaries while researching her stories.

Week Beginning 4th May

Hello boys and girls,

We hope that you are all well and that you have had a good week. Last Tuesday we introduced some extra activities for you to complete and hope that you have tried them. Over the next few weeks if there are any tasks that you have enjoyed doing, please take some photographs and you can show them when you return to school.

This week’s activities are on Other Words instead of using Said and the Times Tables. We encourage you to keep practising the Tables and remember you can use “Hit the Button” games on the Topmarks website.

Love From Mrs Clinton, Miss Pullan and Mr McAteer

Hello Boys and Girls,

We hope you have enjoyed your Easter break even if it was a little different than normal. We hope you are all safe and well and are ready to start completing some activities, which we will be putting up here on our class page each week, alongside your pack.  Each Tuesday we will upload some activities, which you can complete. This week we are including some revision of Data Handling and a Book Review. We hope you have been able to read some of your lovely books, so we thought it would be nice for you to complete a book review on one of the books you have read.

Take Care and Stay Safe

Love Mrs Clinton, Miss Pullan and Mr McAteer

Hello everyone, I would like to wish you all a Happy Easter! I hope you are all staying safe and well. I am missing you all lots and the fun that I know we would be having! I hope you have been able to do some of the work in your pack. The weather has been kind to us, so I hope you have been able to enjoy some exercise in the garden. I have tried to keep active by doing some PE lessons with Joe Wicks, maybe some of you have done the same. During these next couple of weeks, why not try to get creative outside or inside, keep active and always wash your hands!

Stay Safe

Homework

In P5 we have spellings and tables to learn every night.  These are tested on a daily basis and then a revision of all spellings tested on a  Friday.  Please look through these tests with your child and enjoy celebrating their successes.

Each night the children will have reading. The books really test the children's understanding of language, not just their fluency, and hopefully you will enjoy reading them with your child.  We also read novels offering differing levels of difficulty throughout the year.  The children are encouraged to read for pleasure both at home and in school.

In P5 we have three written homeworks a week on a Monday (Numeracy), Tuesday (Literacy) and Wednesday (Numeracy).  The children will not be given anything they haven't covered in class at a higher level.
