  • CANCER FOCUS VISIT

    We welcomed Ciara and Eimear from Cancer Focus NI to school today. They spoke to all the children on various topics including healthy eating, keeping fit, care in the sun and smoking.

    Well done to the winners of the PTA Scavenger Hunt. The winners were Carson Magee P1, Frazer Burns P2, Jude Hyndman P3, Georgie Hanna P4, Daisy Shirlow P5, Abigail McCrory P6 and Anjali Labade P7. The lucky winners all won an Easter Egg.

    Former Ulster Rugby Captain and Ireland International Mr Andy Ward came to visit pupils and give his support to all our runners before the fun run.

    All pupils had a great time at the Fun Run on Thursday.  The sun was shining, the children were smiling, exercising and raising money at the same time. A big thank you to everyone for all their efforts.

    Well done to Antrim PS girls Cassie Fulton, Gemma McMeekin, Cadhla Molloy, Lois Thomspon, Georgia Wilson and Emily Wray who all represented Antrim Hockey Club at the Ulster Hockey Finals Day at Playball, Belfast.  The girls won their group with 4 wins, progressing to the next group stage and with two more wins they reached the semi-finals where they were beaten by a  very strong Pegasus squad.  To reach the semi-finals on Ulster Finals Day is a huge achievement for these young girls who all played fantastic, we wish them continued success! nosmiley

    Congratulations to Annie Cathcart, Cadhla Molloy, Jack McCombe, and Gemma McMeekin who all represented County Antrim at the recent NI Indoor Athletics Championships.  This was a great day for the pupils and great experience, well done everyone!nosmiley

    Well done to dancers Zoe McLaughlin, Dara Thornton and Penny Thornton who have each gained awards competing at both the Newry and Ulster Dance & Fitness Championships.  Penny was placed 1st in the Tap trio and 3rd in Lyrical Duet, while Zoe and Dara were placed 1st in both Modern Dance and Hip Hop.  Dara was also placed 2nd in the Lyrical category. Congratulations to these very talented girls!smiley

    We would like to thank Karissa Glenn from Burns Skills School for all her hard work with our P2 and P3 dancers. They performed for the Junior Assembly on Thursday morning after weeks of hard work and fun. Well done to all of the children involved, they were excellent!
