  • JANS COMPOSITES

    Thu 23 Jun 2022

P6 Room 7 was invited to visit Jans Composites, a local manufacturing company, on Wednesday 22nd June, from 9.30am to 12 noon.

Jans Composites was inviting local schools to visit as part of Manufacturing Month, which is a major initiative, showcasing the work of local manufacturers.  The focus of Manufacturing Month this year is on the people in the sector, from leaders to skilled workers and apprentices.  Jans Group showed our pupils the work it does and what career opportunities are available within its range of companies.

We had a fantastic morning being shown around the factory. The pupils especially enjoyed seeing the items which the company has made for local film companies, and even some items for Star Wars films. They all enjoyed being able to lift Thor's Hammer, Mjolnir. We asked lots of questions and really enjoyed seeing the remote-controlled crane in action. A great time was had by all and the manager taking the tour said that our class behaved beautifully.
