  Our P5 pupils in Room 16 did an Assembly today about communication. They learned about how communication has changed over the years. They also learned how God communicates with us and how we can communicate with him. Well done to Room 16!

   

  

• BIG GARDEN BIRDWATCH

  Pupils have been taking part in the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch. The children studied a variety of birds before taking part in an outdoor birdwatch, assisted by P7 pupils. This was a fantastic chance for the children to learn about the range of birds that visit our school grounds.

  For a special treat today, all pupils enjoyed a visit from the M&M Theatre who performed a wonderful production of ‘Beauty and the Beast’.

  

• ROAD SAFETY QUIZ

  Wed 18 Jan 2023

  On Tuesday a P7 team represented school at the regional heats of the N.I. Primary School Road Safety Quiz at Mossley Mill. The team consisted of Jude Hyndman, Emma Kitson, Rohan Labade and Alexandra Owen. They answered 8 rounds of very tricky questions on Road Safety and General Knowledge. The team performed extremely well, coming in 4th place out of 18 teams. Well done to all involved!

   

   

  

• VIKING TALK

  P6 pupils enjoyed an exciting visit from two of our school parents this week. Mr & Mrs Stewart delivered a wonderful talk and interactive experience about the history of the Vikings and their way of life.  Pupils also got to see and touch some of the tools and weapons that the Vikings would have used.  Many thanks to Mr & Mrs Stewart for visiting us.

  We welcomed Robert McConnell to our P1-P3 assembly today. He told us the bible story of Elijah and the ravens. We enjoyed the fun quiz afterwards. Well done to the winners - the Primary 2 yeargroup.

  

• RESILIENT RHYTHM

  We welcomed Louise back to Antrim PS this week to deliver the first of three sessions to P5-P7 pupils. Activities include purposeful breathing through action songs, expressive and creative use of voice by chants and singing, body mind connection and emotional regulation.

  

• JUMP, JIGGLE AND JIVE

  Primary 1 pupils took part in their first session of an interactive dance programme this week. Dance and exercise are a fun way to get active, and great to get small children moving and laughing while having a great time.
