  • ULSTERBUS RAINBOWS

    Fri 29 May 2020
Our keyworker children had a special request this week, to draw rainbows to say a big thank you to all keyworkers in our community.   Pupils Charlotte Betts, Leo Love and Eva Lukauskaite presented some of our artwork to the Translink Antrim Depot.  Watch out for our beautiful work on display in our local buses.
  • Antrim Primary School Help the Local and Global Community

    Tue 26 May 2020

Thanks to the children’s generous donations of wool collected throughout the year by our P1-P4 children, this collection of scarves, beanies and mittens are on their way to South Africa.

Open Schools Worldwide is a programme which trains local volunteers as teachers who then deliver lessons in community centres, under trees and in homes – wherever children are. There are currently projects in South Africa, Zimbabwe, Swaziland and Kenya.

It is almost winter in South Africa and temperatures at night can fall to below freezing. The children will need these warm items in the weeks and months ahead.

Altogether, 35 scarves, 72 beanies and 4 pairs of mittens were knit by local women with the donated wool. Many of these ladies are elderly and live alone and were so glad of a project to keep them busy during lockdown.

We know the results of their hard work will be enjoyed and greatly appreciated by the South African children.

Thank you to our families for their kind donations and to the ladies who gave their time to knit the items.

‘In the rhythm of the needles there is music for the soul.’

  • LOOK WHO IS BACK!!

    Tue 19 May 2020

We are delighted this week to see our annual visitors return to Antrim PS.  Mummy duck has again returned, this time with a family of seven beautiful ducklings.  This is one spoilt duck, she knows her family are well looked after at Antrim PS every year!

Pupils love to enjoy watching the baby ducklings grow in our courtyard, and it always brings them so much excitement.  We will keep you updated on their progress while you all stay safe at home.
