FIRST LEGO LEAGUE EXPLORE
On Wednesday 4th May a P6 team went to W5 to take part in First Lego League Explore.
This is a global STEM challenge to encourage an interest in real world issues and develop problem solving skills. It is a hands-on programme and celebrates core values such as discovery and teamwork.
Each year, First Lego Explore presents a new challenge to encourage pupils to be creative. This years theme was 'Cargo Connect' where pupils explored problems of transporting goods around the world. The challenge was to build a base representing different types of transport and program Lego models using Ipads and Lego Education Wedo 2.0 hubs.
A team of seven pupils Megan Campbell, Emily Crosby, Bailey Doherty, Christopher Ingle, Oliver Little, Ava McLaughlin and Grace O'Boyle represented our school at W5 where they presented and shared their solutions with the judges and other teams from across N. Ireland. The pupils won best team for coding their models.
