ICE HOCKEY
Fri 28 Nov 2025P7 pupils had a wonderful time today at the Friendship Four Ice Hockey Tournament at The SSE Arena, Belfast. We were delighted to again secure free tickets for pupils to watch top U.S college ice hockey teams compete for the coveted Belpot Trophy.

OPEN NIGHT
Thu 27 Nov 2025Our Open Night was a great success! It was fantastic to welcome prospective P1 pupils and their parents. Our own pupils who came along to help were wonderful ambassadors for APS. If anyone was unable to attend the Open Evening please contact school to arrange a visit.

HEALTHY RELATIONSHIPS WORKSHOP
Tue 25 Nov 2025P7 enjoyed a visit from Women's Aid, who were delivering their 'Healthy Relationships' workshop. They looked at how we can recognise the qualities of healthy and unhealthy relationships, and how to have a more positive relationship with ourselves.

Mon 24 Nov 2025Today the choir hosted a special afternoon of festive music in school for residents from a number of local nursing homes. They also enjoyed some festive goodies. We hope they enjoyed their afternoon with us.

TAKE 5 FRIDAY
Fri 21 Nov 2025Today, as part of 'Take 5 Fridays' P7 Room 13 went on a 'Taking Notice' walk. They talked about all things they could hear, see, smell and feel around them. Stepping on the crunchy ice was their favourite thing!

P6 BUSINESS MASTERCLASS
Thu 20 Nov 2025P6 enjoyed a 'Business Masterclass' morning at Mossley Mill with Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough Council. They learned all about companies, supply chains and clever packaging. Now back to class to finish their designs and manufacture their juice cartons.

ULSTER SCOTS AGENCY
Wed 19 Nov 2025On Tuesday we had a visitor from the Ulster-Scots Agency who spoke to the P6 classes about the history of Ulster Scots, its language, dress and demonstrated some of the dance steps in Scottish dancing.

WORLD KINDNESS DAY
Mon 17 Nov 2025Kindness Day- Room 3 used an apple to show that unkind words might not change how you look on the outside but hurt our feelings inside. We said unkind things to one apple and kind things to the other. The apples changed on the inside. So we all have to be careful with our words.
