  • LEAGUE CHAMPIONS

    Fri 08 May 2026

Congratulations to the boys’ football team, who have secured their third piece of silverware in a matter of days after being crowned ANPSFA League Champions.

In a tightly contested title race, the boys edged out local rivals St Comgall’s PS by just a single point to lift the trophy. The squad began with a convincing 3-0 victory over Abbots Cross PS. They then suffered a 3-0 defeat to Whiteabbey PS, who gained revenge after Tuesday’s InterCity Futsal final. With everything riding on the final match against Glengormley PS the boys knew that only a win would secure the title – and they delivered in style with a commanding victory.

We are incredibly proud of the boys for their determination, resilience and teamwork throughout the competition, qualities that have been rewarded with yet another fantastic achievement.

A special mention must go to Leo, who finished as the league’s top goal scorer since January, earning the Golden Boot award for his outstanding performances in front of goal. Well done to all involved on another brilliant success. A special thank you to Mr Duddy for his contribution and help this year, and for all the supporters who attended games each week.

Well done to P4 pupils Abigail, Amy, Aliyah and Emily, who as part of the P3-P4 UEFA Playmakers programme were delighted be selected as Player Escorts at the recent Northern Ireland vs England WU17 match at Inver Park, Larne.

The girls also got to participate in the Disney Play Games Festival ahead of the match and got to keep their football kits.  They thoroughly enjoyed their experience, hopefully we will have gained some new enthusiastic female players for the future.

  • CHAMPIONS- INTERCity Futsal

    Thu 07 May 2026

Congratulations to the boys’ football team, who have picked up their second piece of silverware this year. The squad travelled to New Forge, Belfast, on Tuesday to take part in the InterCity Futsal Finals. After a slow start, with two draws against Belvoir and St Bernard’s, they went on to win their next four games, including a victory over favourites Kilkeel, to reach the knockout stages.

Of course, we never make it easy on ourselves. After a 2–2 draw and a tense penalty shootout, the boys beat Edenbrooke to make the semi-finals, where they came up against Belvoir once again before booking their place in the final with a 2–1 win. The boys faced Whiteabbey in the final and, with a hat-trick from Marley, APS were crowned InterCity Futsal Champions with a 4–2 victory.

We are delighted for the boys, who are being rewarded for their dedication and commitment throughout the year. As winners, the school has also been awarded a new football kit, and the boys are looking forward to welcoming representatives from InterCity Futsal, who will present them with their medals and winners’ cup. A special thank you to Mr Duddy for helping escort the boys to New Forge, and to all the travelling support.

Squad: Alfie, Conor, Leo, Marley, Matthew, Will
