P7'S LAST DAY
Tue 24 Mar 2020We said an emotional goodbye to our Primary 7 pupils on Friday 20th March. We had a piper to play them out on their last day. We would like to wish them all good luck as they move onto the next stage of their education journey. -

MISS BARRY
Fri 20 Mar 2020Well done to P6 teacher Miss Barry who recently visited to Buckingham Palace to receive the Queens Anniversary prize which is given out every 2 years to relevant universities. The prize was received for the shared education programme and all the amazing work that has been done in collaboration with Queen's University. Prince Charles spoke to Miss Barry about the programme and how much the children in P6 in Antrim Primary loved it. -

BOYS AND GIRLS HOCKEY
Tue 10 Mar 2020Well done to the girls' and boys' hockey teams who took part in the BDO Regional Qualifiers on Monday in Ballymena. Huge congratulations to Ruby Hyndman, Tegan MacDonald,Nicole McCombe, Gemma McMeekin, Jessica Mellon, Ella Naylor, Poppy Ramsey and Emily Wray who were undefeated throughout the tournament and now qualify to represent the district at the N. Ireland Finals later this year at Stormont.

ART CLUB
Mon 09 Mar 2020The children in art Club are enjoying trying out a variety of different techniques and drawing skills on a Thursday afternoon. There are some very talented artists. -
POPPY APPEAL
Fri 06 Mar 2020We were delighted to be presented with the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal Certificate of Appreciation, in recognition of the excellent work carried out in support of the Poppy Appeal. We were also awarded the Poppy Appeal trophy, for the second successive year, for the school who raised the most funds during November. Thank you for kind generosity and support. Special thanks to P6 pupil Harry Doone who contributed by helping the Royal British Legion. -
SCHOOL COUNCIL
Fri 06 Mar 2020Pupils from Antrim Primary and St Comgall's Primary School councils were invited by the Mayor Mr John Smyth to visit Antrim Civic Centre this week. The pupils were given a guided tour and were privileged to sit in the Council Chamber where they questioned the Mayor on his role. -
AUTHOR VISITS ON WORLD BOOK DAY
Thu 05 Mar 2020This week we were privileged to have two wonderful authors visit school for World Book Day. Liz Weir MBE is a writer and storyteller from N. Ireland and was the first winner of the International Story Bridge Award from the National Story Telling Network, USA. Myra Zepf has published 10 books for children and was the first ever Children's Writing Fellow for N. Ireland, based at the Seamus Heaney Centre (2017-2019). She also works extensively with schools providing poetry workshops and encouraging children's creativity in writing. The pupils thoroughly enjoyed listening and interacting with both authors, we hope they will return tour school again. -
