KIERON BLACK - AUTHOR
Mon 03 Jun 2019On Friday 31st June, the Primary 2 children were treated to a visit from Killough based author and illustrator Kieron Black. Kieron is also a successful landscape painter, exhibiting across the UK, Europe and New York. He has illustrated several children’s books, as well as writing his own. Kieron’s latest book is called ‘The Goblin’s Blue Blanket’, which follows Ogie the Goblin and his annoying cat Gerald as they journey to find Ogie’s lost blanket.
All three classes greatly enjoyed listening to Kieron read from his books. They then had a question and answer session about his role as a children’s author. Their workshop with Kieron ended with a demonstration of how to draw an illustration and the children got to try some out for themselves.
We really enjoyed having Kieron in our school and hopefully some of the children will even be inspired to write or illustrate their own books one day!
