  • P7 FOREST SCHOOLS

    P7 pupils took part in a Forest Schools lesson, linked with their current WAU topic 'Turning Points'. The pupils had to work effectively in teams to create shelters out of tarpaulin and sticks. Given the Northern Irish weather, the pupils were able to put them to the test as they had to battle wind, rain and sun.

    P5 had a fantastic day at their trip to Craigavon Ski Centre. They went snow tubing and played golf football.

  • CHORAL FESTIVAL

    Our school choir travelled today to St Benedicts College in Randalstown for their choral festival. The choir were delighted to be placed first. A lovely morning was had by all.

    Congratulations to P6 pupil Ruby Kirkpatrick who placed 1st at the N.Ireland Acro Gymnastics Championships over the weekend.

    Congratulations to all our Golden Ticket winners from the Wonder bars. There was a fantastic uptake on these and the prizes were given out in assembly this morning.

  • P5 ORIENTEERING

    It was P5s group 2 first orienteering afterschool club on Tuesday afternoon. They all had a great afternoon. They have been learning map reading skills to help them to navigate to different control points on our school map

  • P4 ULSTER SCOTS

    P4 enjoyed hearing about the history of the Ulster Scots with Shirlie from the Ulster Scots agency. They even got to design their own tartan patterns!

  • ANTRIM CASTLE ORIENTEERING

    On Wednesday evening, 94 children and their families came along to the Orienteering event in the Antrim Castle Gardens. The children picked up their maps and went out to find the orange flags hidden around the park. When they spotted the orange flag, they put their dibbers into the box and listened for the ‘beep’. They enjoyed some cupcakes, crisps and juice in the sun afterwards.

    Miss Reed would like to say a big thank you to everybody who came along. It was wonderful to see so many happy faces enjoying the event. A special thank you to Mrs Moxen, Mrs Carruthers, Mrs Reed and Lagan Valley Orienteers for their invaluable help.

  • BEE SAFE

    On Monday 19th May P7 children took part in the BeeSafe workshops, delivered by the Policing and Community Safety Partnership.

    Pupils learned about fire safety, home safety and road safety. They discussed the dangers of drugs and alcohol use, and the importance of having good relations with their peers and others within our community.

    Congratulations to P7 pupil Lee who qualified for the A Team JDC for the World Cup of darts playing in Gibraltar in November. Well done.
