  • SANTA VISITS APS

    We had a very special visitor at Antrim PS yesterday. All our children met Santa Claus and received a Christmas gift. Each year group will enjoy a Christmas party for the end of term. Thank you to the PTA for organising and funding these special events and an especially a big thank you to Santa himself!

    We held our school Christmas Carol Service on Tuesday evening. It was a lovely festive celebration of our school choir, orchestra and P4 singers.

  • CHRISTMAS JUMPER DAY

    We had a festive and colourful day in school on Thursday- thank you to everyone who celebrated with us by wearing their jumpers and donating to Save the Children. Together with the infant Christmas Assembly we have raised a fabulous total of £740.70, thank you!

     

  • STEAM EDUCATION BOXES

    We are very pleased to receive STEAM Education Boxes from ALMAC. These resources will hugely benefit the delivery of Science in our school. Thanks to Frances, from Almac, for all the work put into these resources, we look forward to using them soon.

  • HOWDENS ART COMPETITION

    Thank you to Howdens who visited this week to present school with a cheque for £250, which P6 pupil Mason Greenwood won during their recent art competition.  Mason has already received his winning voucher for Smyths Toy Store where he purchased some new art materials and a new scooter.

  • ILLUSTRATOR

    The P4 year group enjoyed a wonderful visit from Paul Howard-  illustrator of The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark and Burpee Bears by Joe Wicks. Paul is the Seamus Heaney Child's Writing Fellow for 2022/23 and we were delighted to welcome him back to our school. The pupils enjoyed a lovely story telling and illustrating session with Paul based on the Christmas Burpee Bears book. Thank you to Seamus Heaney Centre for funding the visit and thank you to Paul for putting us all in the festive mood!

  • SCHOOL CHOIR

    Well done to our school choir who performed a number of festive pieces at the Education Authority Staff Development Day in Antrim Board Centre, on Friday morning. All children sang beautifully and were treated with a drink and shortbread afterwards.

  • FOOTBALL SUCCESS

    Well done to the football team who had a very successful second trip to Allen Park, competing in the Primary School Football League on Tuesday. Wearing their new strip for the first time, the boys won all three of their games, continuing their unbeaten run from six games to date. Thank you to all those who came to support.
