FUNDRAISING
Tue 20 Jun 2023Well done to P7 pupil Emma Kirkpatrick who has raised £705 for charity. She has been working very hard and has used her own ideas to fundraise.
In Sept 2021 she raised £415.00 for Alzheimer’s Society by hand making and selling loom band bracelets.
In Aug 2022 she raised £150.00 for Chest, Heart and Stroke also by making and selling loom band bracelets.
In June 2023 she raised £140.00 for Chest, Heart and Stroke this time by hand making and selling bowls.
This is a total of £705.00, every penny raised was by Emma by her kindness and creative ideas. Well Done Emma!

SUMMER FAIR
Mon 19 Jun 2023The Summer Fair was a great success on Friday night. Thanks to staff and parents for their hard work in making it possible and to all those who attended. An excellent profit of £2577.16 was raised, which will be used to purchase additional equipment for school. Special thanks to everyone who so generously
donated towards the raffle, and of course parents and friends for your continued support.

PRIZE WINNER
Mon 19 Jun 2023Congratulations to P5 pupil Josephine McKay-Dunne who was the winner of "Guess the Number of Sweets in the Jar". She received her prize today. We hope she likes jelly beans!

ILLUSTRATOR VISIT
Thu 15 Jun 2023We were delighted to welcome the illustrator of The Owl Who Was Afraid of the Dark, Paul Howard, into our school this week to work with our P3s. The pupils had a wonderful morning with Paul, who took them through a lovely session of illustrating. The children really enjoyed creating their own Plop pictures. We would like to thank the Seamus Heaney Centre for funding this engaging and fun visit for our children. Paul is currently the Children's Writing Fellow based at the centre.

FOREST SCHOOLS
Wed 14 Jun 2023On Tuesday , Room 12 took part in the final session of their Forest Schools programme. The children built dens , carved elder branches to create bug hotels and enjoyed a campfire treat. Thanks to Brian Poots for all his help and training. He is currently assisting staff members completing their Level 3 Forest School Accreditation. We look forward to working with him in the future.

SPORTS WEEK
Wed 07 Jun 2023Congratulations to all boys and girls for taking part in Sports Day. We had a wonderful week made extra special with beautiful weather. All pupils received participation stickers and winners were awarded badges today. Thank you to staff, pupils and parents for ensuring we enjoyed a special sporting occasion.

GREENMOUNT - P4
Wed 31 May 2023The P4 children had a fantastic trip to Greenmount this week. They went on a mini beast hunt, had a nature walk, went pond dipping and worked their way through the maze. It was a thoroughly enjoyable day and the weather was glorious.
