CORONATION RECORDING
Wed 15 Mar 2023The choir enjoyed a fantastic morning at the Courthouse Theatre recording a song for King Charles III’s Coronation in May. They sang a setting of ‘Be Thou My Vision’, specially commissioned for the occasion, along with other schools in our area. Our recording will be shown in public during Coronation celebrations in Antrim and the local community. This was a brilliant experience for the children, and we look forward to seeing the recording!

BEESAFE
Tue 14 Mar 2023Our P7 pupils took part in the BeeSafe Workshops on Monday. It was delivered by the Policing and Community Safety Partnership. The children learned about Fire Safey, Home Safety and Road Safety. They discussed the dangers of drugs and alcohol use, and the importance of having good relations with their peers and others within the community. It was very informative, with lots for the children to think about as they prepare to move on to their next school.

CROSS COUNTRY
Mon 06 Mar 2023Well done to P6 pupil Evie Fawcett who travelled to Mallusk Playing Fields to compete in the Northern Ireland Cross Country Finals. Evie finished 44th out of a total of 134 children, a fantastic ambassador of our school and showed great sportsmanship. This is a fantastic result, and we look forward to seeing how she progresses into next season. Well done Evie!

WORLD BOOK DAY -P7
Fri 03 Mar 2023On World Book Day, all three P7 classes enjoyed their bespoke video made by well known London poet Joshua Seigal. Joshua has written many poetry books for children, including "Yapping Away", winner of the 2022 People's Book Prize and "I Bet I Can Make You Laugh", winner of the 2020 Laugh Out Loud Award. In the special video for our pupils, Joshua shared some of his poems and answered questions which had been sent to him, written by our own boys and girls. Thank you so much Joshua, we loved it!

WORLD BOOK DAY
Thu 02 Mar 2023Thank you to everyone who helped us celebrate World Book Day by coming to school dressed in their pyjamas/onesies. It was a fun day, which was enjoyed by all.

PRIMARY SCHOOL CHOIR OF THE YEAR
Wed 01 Mar 2023Congratulations to the school choir who won 1st place in the ‘Primary School Unison Choir’ AND 'Best Overall Primary School Choir' at the Ballymena Festival of Music, Speech & Dance. We are absolutely thrilled for them all, their hard work and dedication has paid off. Special thanks also to Mrs Brooks and Mrs Hughes who coached and prepared the pupils, and of course those family and friends who travelled to support them, we are super proud!

"THE MAGIC DOOR"
Wed 01 Mar 2023A huge congratulations to fourteen of our boy and girls who entered the Young Writers competition "The Magic Door". All fourteen received a certificate, bookmark and sticker, as well as being given the chance to have their story published in a book. We have some budding young authors in Antrim Primary!

CROSS COUNTRY
Fri 10 Feb 2023On Thursday. Antrim Primary runners took part in their last competition of this academic year. Sixteen pupils travelled to Six Mile Water Park, Ballyclare, and all represented school well, showing great sportsmanship. Evie Fawcett finished in 6th place in the girls' event. All of the children achieved great times and showed great dedication. They have been a fantastic squad and the future of Cross County in Antrim PS is bright! we even managed to have a chat and get a picture with the Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough. Well done to all!
