PLAYBALL - STORMONT
Thu 30 Mar 2023The boys’ hockey team travelled to Stormont, Playball yesterday to play in The Pearson Cup. The boys faced some tough oppositions in the group stages, however they came out strong every match and with a solid defence and outstanding keeper we only ever conceded 2 goals at most. This solid performance followed us into the knockout stages where we faced Strandtown in the quarter final. This was a tight match but the boys worked together and managed to score a goal giving us the win. In the semi-final we played Harpurs Hill. We went 2 goals down however, the boys kept their heads and fought back to make it a 2-2 draw. We then had to go to penalties where keeper Caleb Gibson made some fantastic saves. Jude Hyndman, Tate Hyndman, Oliver Kane and Aaron Totten stepped up to take the penalty runs. Winning on penalty runs we then faced Gorran Primary in the final. This was a tight game and ended goalless. Graciously both teams decided to share The Pearson Plate. We want to congratulate the boys for their hard work and determination. A fantastic display of hockey and they represented the school so well!
