  Applications can now be made online for school year 2021/22.  All parents and guardians, including new applicants will need to apply online.  You STILL need to apply if you have done so in previous years.

• PROJECT 5

  We were delighted to be contacted by Myra Zepf, a local children's author, children's Writing Fellow for NI (2017-2019) and Artistic Director of 'Quotidian - Word on the Street', to ask if we would like to be involved with 'Project 5'. 

   

  This project is funded by Quotidian - Word on the Street and Poetry Ireland. It is an effort to "...reconnect children in schools with authors and illustrators, to allow the ‘WOW’ moments of the live visit that leave lasting impressions and build relationships between children and the written word, but to do so within the confines of Covid-19 compliancy."

  
  The project involves:

  • 5 primary schools in Northern Ireland (3 English-medium, 2 Irish-medium)
  • 5 Irish authors/illustrators, chosen as artists with experience in engagement with children
  • 5 children's books, with an emphasis on those with newly-published books during the pandemic
  • 5 videos

   

  Miss Pankhurst's P7 class have been thoroughly enjoying Sam Thompson's brand new novel 'Wolfstongue'. They each received a copy to keep, which they will take home at the end of the year. They are looking forward to posing their questions to Sam and to receiving his answers via video.

  Primary 1-2 had a visit from Wee Critters today. They got to see a variety of creatures from spiders to snails to lizards.

  

• ANOTHER VISITOR TO ANTRIM PRIMARY SCHOOL

• ART AND ACCELERATED READING IN SCHOOL

  The children have been busy creating lots of beautiful pieces of artwork in school, ranging from a Stamp Design Competition, to

  Our Town and A Starry Starry Night. Can you see something you or your child has created?

   

  The children have also been busy with their AR reading, quite a few children have read more than 1 million words, this is a fantastic achievement! Keep up the reading.

  

• JUMP, JIGGLE AND JIVE

  The children in Room 1 had a great time at their Jump, Jiggle and Jive session on Friday morning. There were lots of funky moves and happy smiling children.

  

• THE ANTRIM PRIMARY DUCKS GO SWIMMING

  The ducks have enjoyed splashing and swimming in their new swimming pool. Mummy duck is doing a great job of looking after her brood.

  Well done to P3 pupil ZOE McLAUGHLIN who has raised a fabulous total of £730.00 for Little Princess Trust by cutting 18 INCHES off her hair.  Fantastic Zoe!
